How a shipment quote is built
The ship page runs this math and shows the pieces before you confirm.
- $12 base handling.
- $1.85 for each kilogram.
- $0.045 for each kilometre of the road distance, with a 5 km floor.
- $8 when the carton is fragile.
- Insurance is the greater of $5 or 1.5% of the declared value.
- Then multiply: standard ×1, express ×1.45, overnight ×1.75, same-day ×2.1.
Same-day is planned as 8 hours, overnight as 18, express as 36. Standard uses the distance, between 24 and 120 hours. The quote also estimates carbon from distance and weight.
